It’s June 1, 1782. I’m visiting with Betsy Ross. At the request of General George Washington, she made “Old Glory,” the first flag of stars and stripes in 1776.
JG: “Betsy, I understand you lost two husbands in that War for Independence from England.”
BR: “Yes, John. The cost of freedom is painful and lonely, but to not sacrifice for liberty’s cause is to be chained in tyranny’s prison.”
