It’s September 11, 1777. I’m with the chaplain of Congress, Patrick Allison.
JG: “Reverend Allison, why did Congress just approve the importing of 20,000 Bibles from Holland and Scotland?”
PA: “Well, Mr. Gillespie, English printers may no longer sell us Bibles, but Congress deeply believes that the use of the Bible is universal and very important to provide Americans spiritual food so we must act now to deliver the supreme Book of Liberty to the people.”
