It’s March 23, 1775. I’m outside St. John’s Church in Richmond where the Second Virginia Convention is in progress. The church is packed and even my press pass won’t get me in. Patrick Henry is in the middle of an impassioned speech against British control. The windows are open. Let’s see if we can hear.
