An odd ally helped change history to protect unborn children. It used to be a policy even before Roe v Wade that women who served in the military were discharged if pregnant and wouldn’t get an abortion. Thankfully things began to change when Susan Struck who served in the Air Force, became pregnant and placed her child for adoption but was still discharged. Susan sued and her case went all the way to the US Supreme Court. You’ll be surprised to know her attorney was Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She worked for the ACLU at the time. It’s notable that the pro-abortion feminist movement made no effort to assist Susan and her case. They’ve always been pro-choice if it’s their choice. Thankfully the military no longer forces women into unwanted abortions.
