Not Likely to Have Children

New data from Pew Research Center found a stunning forty-seven percent of adults under fifty are unlikely to have children.  This is up a whopping ten points from just five years ago.  The most common reason for not having kids is simply they “don’t want to.”  I’d never advocate people having children against their wishes, but they may be robbing themselves of one of life’s most treasured joys.  My advice to young parents is raise your children to be servants of the Lord and others.  A servant’s heart is more open to having children.  And if you feel God’s call in your life doesn’t include children, that’s not a sin.  Neither is remaining single.  First Corinthians ten thirty-one says, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
