Massachusetts is desperate to find homes willing to take in foster children. It’s reported children sleep in social workers’ offices, in hospitals and emergency rooms because there’s no homes available. Mike and Kitty Burke, he an Iraq war veteran and Kitty experienced with special needs children, easily passed training, extensive interviews, and a home evaluation. But the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families rejected the Burkes because their religious faith rightly so rejects same-sex relationships and gender transitioning. The Department ignores it’s on record prohibiting discrimination against prospective foster parents “on the basis of religion.” The Burkes have taken their case to the courts for blatant discrimination.
