They say justice is blind. But that’s not always true when it comes to the abortion issue. Joan Jacobson, an 83- year-old volunteer, was canvasing a Michigan neighborhood, asking homeowners to vote against the referendum enshrining abortion until birth into the state’s constitution. As she argued with his wife, Richard Harvey started waving his rifle around and shot Jacobson in the shoulder. In the end, Harvey got only one hundred hours of community service for shooting the elderly woman. Now compare that with Mark Houck who was prayerfully protesting in front of an abortion center when accused of trumped up charges that would’ve resulted in eleven years in prison. A jury quickly acquitted him. You can see when it comes to the issue of abortion, justice isn’t blind but is often biased.
