Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope!
I’m Carl Kerby, and I’m going “batty!”
We’re going to look at one of the most unbelievable animals that God has ever created – the bat! With over 1,100 different species, bats are an amazingly diverse group. They make up almost 20% of all the mammals in the world!
The largest bat in the world is the Giant Golden Crowned Flying Fox. They can weigh about 3 pounds and have a wing span up to 5 feet! I’d be scared to see that thing flying over my head. The smallest bat is the Kitti’s Hog-Nosed Bat. They weigh less than a dime and are about the size of a jelly bean. They’re also called a “Bumblebee Bat.”
Fact is … regardless of their size, bats have a very special navigation system. The only problem is … our time’s up, so we’ll have to talk about that in the next Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope. Until then, stay bold!
