Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope! I’m Carl Kerby and, today, we’re playing GUESS THAT BUG!
This insect can survive for twenty-four hours under water. This is because it doesn’t have lungs and breathes through small holes (spiricles) which cover its body.
It also has two stomachs! One is for the food which nourishes its body and the second is so it can feed others. This allows some members to forage for food and others to stay and care for their home.
Unbelievably, this insect has been documented to live up to thirty years, making it the longest living insect on record.
Do you know what insect it is?
Here’s one last hint: there are over twelve thousand species of this insect and they’re found on every continent except ANTarctica.
Get it! There are no ANTS in ANTarctica… never mind.
The fact is, God’s design of the ant is amazing and we’ll talk more about that in the next Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope. Until then, stay bold!
