Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope! I’m Carl Kerby and, today, we’re going to be talking about the animal whose voice was used for Chewbacca in the Star Wars movies. Yes, it has a famous voice, but it’s also very uniquely designed. See if you can guess which animal it is…
This animal is a vegetarian who lives up to forty-five years.
An adult stands about six feet tall at its shoulders and weighs anywhere from 1,300 to 2,200 pounds.
It’s a social animal, traveling in herds of up to thirty.
It has small ears, but its hearing is very good.
Do you know what it is?
No? Ok, how about this…
It can run at speeds up to forty miles per hour, drink about thirty-five gallons of water in only thirteen minutes, and has three eyelids to help protect its eyes!
Plus, there are two types of this amazing creature. One type has one hump and the other type has two humps.
Now you know, right?!
It’s the camel.
Our time’s up for now so we’ll talk more about this fascinating animal in the next Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope. Until then… stay bold!
