Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope! I’m Carl Kerby and, today, we’re going to talk about the elephant’s… feet!
The elephant’s feet are a masterpiece of design.
They’re huge (about the size of a welcome mat) and designed so that the elephant can walk on the tips of its toes, almost like wearing platform shoes.
At the base of the heals, there is a large pad of fat, which makes it look like the elephant is standing flat-footed. Air Jordans can only dream of having support like that!
The soles have ridges, just like your shoes do, giving the elephant the ability to walk on smooth surfaces, including ice, and not slip – slipping is not good when you’re that big!
Elephants are AWESOME and I love them, but, that’s all for now so we’ll see you in the next Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope. Until then, stay bold!
