–Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the anniversary of the liberation by Soviet troops of the Auschwitz-Berkenau concentration camps.
–Nearly one-quarter of Dutch adult millennials and youth of Generation “Z” believe that the holocaust is a myth or that the numbers of those who were killed by the Nazis was inflated.
–The United Arab Emirates is rapidly becoming a friend of Israel and to the Jews thanks to the Abraham Accords.
–Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson and Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley have demanded that the National Archives provide information about its involvement, knowledge, and role in the discovery of classified documents at various locations.
–Senator Tom Cotton, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he and other Republicans will hold up President Biden’s nominees until the administration shares with Congress the classified documents seized at the Biden’s Delaware home, his Washington office, and former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
–Former Vice President Mike Pence notified the National Archives last Wednesday that a small batch of classified documents were found at his residence in Indiana.
–The National Archives is formally requesting former presidents and vice presidents to recheck their personal records for any classified documents or other presidential records.
–The Biden think tank at the University of Pennsylvania, where the president stashed classified documents, didn’t just have lax security, it also hosted events in partnership with organizations that promoted closer engagement with China.
–Authorities charged a former special agent in charge of the FBI’s Counter Intelligence Division in New York and a court interpreter with breaking sanctions to work for a Russian oligarch.
–A President Biden nominee for U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Washington said she did not know basic questions about constitutional law when quizzed in a confirmation hearing on Wednesday.
–House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has selected two of the 20 Republican holdouts who delayed his election as speaker to serve on the House Rules Committee.
–McCarthy officially rejected Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell for seats on the House Intelligence Committee after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries nominated them last Saturday. Jim provided audio from McCarthy on this issue.
