This week, the World Economic Forum is meeting in Davos, Switzerland. On the eve of these multi-day meetings, the founder and executive chairman, Klaus Schwab, declared 2023 the year of the polycrisis. He declared that environmental, economical, social and geopolitical crises are converging and conflating, creating an extensively versatile and uncertain future.
Returning to Crosstalk to report on this development was Alex Newman. Alex is an award-winning international freelance journalist, author, researcher, educator and consultant. So who’s been attending the World Economic Forum summit? While U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping are not in attendance, there are still over 50 heads of state present, leaders of all the major international organizations, as well as CEO’s from major corporations, and many more.
Since many in attendance are from America, what can we expect? Alex noted that this gathering has to do with talking points so that the World Economic Forum can present listeners with a way of thinking about and framing the issues and policies that are discussed. He believes that also includes fear so that the World Economic Forum can steer the response to such crises in such a way that is desirable to those at the top.
In summary, Klaus Schwab was recruited by Henry Kissinger and he, in turn, was recruited by David Rockefeller. So Alex believes Schwab is more the “front man” rather than the man at the top. Nonetheless, he sees the specific purpose for these meetings as an attempt to advance the agenda of others behind the scenes with the World Economic Forum playing a specific role in the push toward a one-world order that will include help from business, government and the social sector.
