As believers in Christ we are to be in this world, but not of this world. Unfortunately, this world is having an impact upon believers rather than believers having an impact on the world. That brings up a question: What do we allow to entertain us on Saturday, that would repulse us if it happened in church on Sunday?
In order to answer that question, a month ago Crosstalk introduced listeners to a new film, ‘Power of the Air.’ This is a film that likely steps on many toes because it challenges us in a very unique way to examine what we allow into our lives. We’ve had much response from all over the nation pertaining to this film and that’s why we invited Dave Christiano back to Crosstalk.
Dave is a Christian film director, producer, writer and distributor. At one time he was destined to Hollywood with high hopes and big dreams, but God had a higher calling on his life to produce Christian films which he’s been doing for close to 35 years.
After presenting his personal testimony, Dave gave details concerning how Hollywood and the media affects believers. That’s the basic story line for ‘Power of the Air.’ More specifically, it goes like this:
A missionary from Africa comes to the United States and shares with a concerned Christian how he feels the church in America is being deceived and in great danger. The Christian is very convicted by what he hears, makes a significant change in his life, and then sets forth a plan to reach his city with the gospel. He faces unexpected challenges, costs, and struggles to execute his idea, plus the uncertainty of knowing if his effort will produce any results. This film is about the power of Hollywood and the media and how it affects your life.
‘Power of the Air’ isn’t just another ‘religious’ or so-called ‘faith-based’ film. It’s an evangelistic film, it presents the truth about eternity, it’s self-examining and it’s a tool that is helpful in opening the eyes and bringing a perspective that people haven’t thought of.
