The theme text for this edition of Crosstalk is Luke 6:39-49. After reading this portion of Scripture, Vic presented some headlines concerning well known Christian artists. For example:
–Top Christian Music Artists Hit Bottom in God’s Eyes. This article listed groups that have come out as homosexual or those sympathetic to that lifestyle that is helping to destroy the foundation of our faith and nation. Groups and artists include Third Day, Mercy Me, Michael W. Smith, Toby Mac, D.C. Talk, Stryper, Rebecca St. James, Ray Boltz and more. Sadly, these individuals are being lifted up as icons of spiritual authority for young people today.
Other headlines highlighted efforts of the Catholic Church that can only move people away from a sure foundation. Stories included:
–Pope Francis faced Mecca and expressed reverence along with a Grand Mufti during a tour of Turkey’s Blue Mosque.
–Back on June 8th of this year, Pamela Geller reported that for the first time in history, Islamic prayers and readings from the Koran would be heard at the Vatican in Rome.
–The Pope calls for structured training to help clergy engage with Muslims.
–Pope Francis becomes a homosexuality hero.
–The Pope tells conservative bishops that God is not afraid of new things.
–Pope Francis says the church should help families stand by LGBT members.
