This Crosstalk began with a very sobering 9-11 presentation narrated by WVCY’s Gordon Morris. Along with help from media voices that were viewing the events as they occurred, Gordon’s presentation began like this:
“At 8:46am disaster strikes as hijackers fly American Airlines Flight 11 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Then, just moments later, at 9:03am, the hijacked American Airlines Flight 175 is flown into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
As rescue crews at the World Trade Center worked to find survivors another disaster loomed on the horizon. American Airlines Flight 77 is on a crash course for Washington, D.C. And at 9:40am, it plunges into the side of the Pentagon killing a total of 125 people.
Almost simultaneously, another flight, this time United Flight 93, is also hijacked and at 10:07am that plane crashes into a field in rural Pennsylvania.”
In subsequent days, God suddenly became popular, flags were everywhere and churches were filled. Unfortunately over many days, weeks, months and now 13 years later, most of that reliance upon God has disappeared. Today many people in America want nothing to do with God, some going so far as to portray anything about God as being…unconstitutional.
As the broadcast continued, Vic challenged listeners to provide answers to the following questions:
–What have we learned from 9-11?
–Did 9-11 draw us closer to God as a nation or more distant?
–Do you see the number one problem in our nation as safety/security or is our
greatest need a spiritual one?
–What spiritual lessons are we missing as a nation regarding 9-11?
–How do you see the state of the church since 9-11?
–Are you satisfied or dissatisfied with our national and state leaders in how
they’re revering spiritual things?
–Are you satisfied or dissatisfied with our churches in how they revere spiritual
things and responsibility toward God?
