Vic began by spending several minutes presenting interesting news regarding the state of Oklahoma. This is the only state where President Obama did not win one single county in the last election.
The points he noted included:
–They passed an amendment, (37-9) to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance of the state capitol. Federal officials in Washington along with the ACLU said this would be a serious mistake. They did it anyway.
–They recently passed a law (HB-1804) to incarcerate all illegal immigrants and send them back to where they came from unless they are willing to get a green card and become an American citizen.
–They passed a law (SB-1102) to include DNA samples from any and all illegal aliens to the state database for criminal investigative purposes. Nancy Pelosi said it was unconstitutional. Oklahoma did it anyway.
–Several weeks ago, they passed a law declaring that they are a sovereign state, not under the federal government directives, joining Texas, Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.
–A week ago Oklahoma passed a law confirming that citizens have a right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles.
–They have passed a law that all drivers’ license exams will be printed in English and only in English.
Regarding the main topic, sadly, there were 349 military suicides in 2012, a record high, far exceeding American combat deaths in Afghanistan.
This may seem confusing, especially when you consider the fact that we are winding down our involvement in Afghanistan. Could it be the transition period back to peaceful, societal living that poses a challenge for soldiers? Do factors such as the continued ousting of God as seen in the tide of homosexual acceptance in the military play a role? Find out what callers had to say on this important edition of Crosstalk.
