As soon as the shooting incident in Aurora took place, the liberal “left” took the opportunity to speak out against gun rights. What they conveniently forget or perhaps know but won’t admit, 99% of the massacres in America have occurred in gun free zones such as the theater in Aurora, Colorado, Columbine High School, Virginia Tech and Fort Hood, Texas.
What happens when good people are allowed to own guns? Erich cited another incident in Aurora, Colorado, that occurred in April of this year. A man drove his car into a church parking lot, crashed into another car, got out and started firing shots and killed a person in the parking lot. He was about to enter the church and continue his shooting. Fortunately, a worshipper who had a concealed firearm (Churches in Colorado are not gun-free zones.), used it and killed the man, an action that avoided a possible massacre.
The right to self-defense is biblical. America’s founders knew this which is why they gave us the right to keep and bear arms. Today, however, killing is often trivialized in the minds of children and even adults through games such as “Paintball” as well as numerous video games.
Does history prove that gun bans make American cities safer? Erich describes why the answer is no, and with Vic, discusses other factors that prove why allowing law-abiding citizens to carry guns, is a great deterrent to crime.
