I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about the fear of the threat of nuclear war.
Even though it’s not talked about on mainstream media like it was in the 60’s, many people still experience anxiety and fear about possible nuclear war – especially with dictators in third-world countries threatening to use weapons of mass destruction.
However, amid world uncertainty, Psalm 24:1 reminds us, “The earth is the Lord’s … and they that dwell therein.” And for Christians, God tells us in Romans that He’s causing “all things to work together for good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 KJV) Ultimately, God’s in control of this planet, and nothing will thwart His sovereign plan.
Billy Graham once responded to the claim that only a world government could prevent nuclear annihilation with these words: “That’s right. Jesus Christ will be the King over all the earth in His theocratic world government.”
And speaking of government, what’s the role of government in society? We’ll discuss that another time.
