I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about Easter.
According to Lifeway Research, “More than half of Protestant pastors say Easter is their best-attended service of the year.” There’s a reason the day is so special to believers – it celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead after He died for our sins.
Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, reminds us that Jesus lives and it means He is who He says He is – the Son of God – Savior of the world. It also means His promise of eternal life is true. Jesus said, “Because I live, you will live also” (John 14:19 ESV).
Josh McDowell said, for the Christian, “No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments, and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the Resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good.”
Now, what other issues are important to the believer? We’ll discuss that another time.
