Welcome!
I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about Good Friday.
A recent USA Today article was entitled “What is Good Friday? What the Holy Day Means for Christians around the World.” Although many don’t know what this day is about, to Christians, Good Friday, the day commemorating Jesus’ death on the cross, represents the most important event in human history – Christ dying for the world’s sins, making salvation possible for mankind. 1 Peter 3:18 tells us that it was on Good Friday that “Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (NKJV).
As Randy Alcorn said, “What is good about Good Friday? Why isn’t it called Bad Friday? Because out of the appallingly bad came what was inexpressibly good. And the good trumps the bad because though the bad was temporary, the good is eternal.”
Now, what else should be important to the believer? We’ll discuss that another time.
