The Importance of an Intact Home (Part 1)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about the importance of an intact home.

Moms are important, and dads are important. But how important is it for kids to have both a mom AND dad at home?

Well, research shows that kids raised by both dad and mom in the house are far less likely to be addicted to drugs.

In fact, a study by Columbia University found that children in single-parent homes have a 30% INCREASED risk of becoming involved in substance abuse and violent behavior, but children with both biological parents at home have a 6% DECREASED risk of these vices – even if the relationship with the father is poor.

No parent is perfect, but the fact remains that God’s design for the family … a mom and dad at home … is best for child and family.

And why else is an intact family important? We’ll discuss that another time.
