Welcome!
I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about helping families without a dad.
Today, the number of American children growing up without a dad at home has increased at a startling rate. Is there an answer to help fatherless kids?
Yes – it’s the Church!
James 1:27 tells believers, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world..” (NKJV)
Believers should look for opportunities to influence the lives of kids without dads. Men in the Church can reach out to fatherless children in a variety of ways, like taking them on youth outings, holding home Bible studies with their families, or simply having them over for a meal. Ultimately, being a male role model will help these children have a better understanding of our Heavenly Father and His relationship to His children.
Now what about God’s role for mothers in the home? We’ll discuss that another time on Apologetics with Reasons for Hope.
