The Importance of Fathers in the Home (Part 3)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about fathers in the home.

The number of children in America growing up without a dad in their lives – nearly 40% – is at a crisis level. Without fathers, children are at a much higher risk to suffer long-term spiritual, mental, and emotional problems.

The Bible tells us that God designed the father’s role in the family to be instrumental in the development of children. Fathers are to be their family’s provider, their guide, their protector, their truth-teller, their nurturer, and their spiritual leader. Although single mothers make valiant efforts to shoulder these responsibilities, only a father can completely meet these needs in their children’s lives.

As Mark Dominik, General Manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers said, “Being a dad is my most important job because it not only affects my children, but their children and many generations to come.”

Now how can believers minister to those without fathers? We’ll discuss that another time.
