The Importance of Fathers in the Home (Part 1)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about fathers in the home.

Unfortunately, our generation has seen a surge in children growing up without dads at home.

According to the National Center for Fathering, nearly 40% of children in grades 1 through 12 are fatherless. And while the secular world downplays the importance of male role models, fatherlessness has become a huge societal problem.

Research shows that kids without a dad are FOUR TIMES as likely to live in poverty when they become adults, TEN times as likely to abuse alcohol, NINE times as likely to quit school, TWENTY TIMES as likely to end up in prison, ELEVEN times as likely to exhibit violent behavior, and even TWICE as likely to commit suicide.

Dads are indispensable to the well-being of children. As Proverbs 17:6 reminds us, “[T]he glory of children are their fathers.” (KJV)

And why else are fathers important in the home? We’ll discuss that another time on Apologetics with Reasons for Hope.
