The Benefits of a Biblical Marriage (Part 4)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about the benefits of a biblical marriage.

Not only is God-designed marriage good for your emotional well-being, it’s also good for the economy.

Yep. According to Jonathan Rauch in National Journal, “[M]arriage is displacing both income and race as the great class divide of the new century … Research by the ton finds that children raised in single-parent homes are at greater risk of poverty, school dropout, delinquency, teen pregnancy, and adult joblessness.” In his article, Rauch cited research “that the proliferation of single-parent households accounts for virtually all of the increase in child poverty since the early 1970s.” Wow!

It would do well for the culture, and especially believers, to recognize the many benefits of this sacred institution. It’s no coincidence that God’s design for marriage is also good for the economy and gives children the best chance for financial stability.

Now, what are other benefits of a biblical marriage? We’ll discuss them another time.
