I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about adultery.
God didn’t mince words when He said, “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (Ex. 20:14). Yet, research by psychiatrist Dr. Scott Haltzman found that extramarital affairs affect 40% — nearly HALF — of married couples. Marriage is more than just a legal contract — it’s a sacred commitment. Adultery destroys the bond of trust between husband and wife and leads to broken lives. Every marriage experiences trying times, but the answer to challenges should never be giving into the temptation to look outside the marriage for satisfaction.
As Dr. James Dobson said, “Beautiful, enticing, forbidden fruit will be offered to you when your ‘hunger’ is greatest. If you are foolish enough to reach for it, your fingers will sink into the rotten mush on the back side. That’s the way sin operates in our lives. It promises everything. It delivers nothing but disgust and heartache.”
