MORALITY: The Dangers of Pre-marital Sex (Part 1)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about pre-marital sex.

Scripture teaches that God’s design for physical intimacy is within marriage. Sex outside that boundary is not only going against what God commands, but it’s dangerous.

According to the CDC, sexually transmitted disease has climbed to an all-time high. In fact, there are 20 million new STD infections each year, and HALF of those affect ages 15-24. These include but aren’t limited to chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, and the new “monkeypox.” These STD’s can lead to permanent health problems, infertility, and even death.

1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to “[f]lee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body” (ESV).

While today’s culture may throw off all sexual restraint and reap the consequences, God’s design ensures protection without lessening the pleasure, and leads to a fulfilling — and healthy — life.

And what are other dangers of pre-marital sex? We’ll discuss them another time.
