A Christian’s Place in Politics (Part 4)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re asking the question: “Should Christians vote?”

According to My Faith Votes, a whopping 40 MILLION Christians DON’T VOTE in presidential elections, and 15 MILLION Christians are NOT EVEN REGISTERED!

But believers SHOULD BE promoting biblical truth in EVERY area of culture — including elections – especially if we’re free to do so like we are in the United States. Jason Yates, CEO of My Faith Votes, said, “We have to bring the good of our faith, the values of our faith into the election process, into the civic square.”

So then HOW should believers vote? That’s a tough one because no matter which candidate you choose, he or she is a sinner living in a fallen world just like the rest of us. It’s always going to feel like choosing the lesser of two evils, so to speak. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote. It just means you should evaluate candidates based on biblical principles and prayerfully consider the people you vote for. Doing nothing or being silent is NOT an option.

Next, we’ll talk about legislating morality.
