I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about Christians in politics.
What role should believers have in politics? Some believe NONE!
But Christians need to be good citizens in the land God has put them in. Withdrawing from the political realm while living in a country governed by THE PEOPLE is really a dereliction of duty.
And, although it’s true that real transformation in a culture doesn’t come from legislation but from personal and societal revival as hearts turn to Christ, many of today’s “political” issues — such as abortion, marriage, and sexuality — are really moral and cultural issues that need to be addressed from a biblical worldview.
As apologist Charles Colson said, “When it comes to the culture, there’s no such thing as peaceful coexistence. If we’re not defending truth, fighting for Christian values in all of life, the truth will be sacrificed on the altar of mainstream secularism.”
