Welcome!
I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about socialism.
Socialism’s Marxist philosophy holds that man is essentially a “blank slate” by nature. As such, the government can “educate” him to voluntarily promote the socialist state. In other words, people can be “programmed” like robots to both work without compensation and to care for others without incentive.
But does this idea reflect reality?
As author and teamwork authority, Dr. David Goetsch, said, “The Achilles Heel of socialism is that its proponents fail to take into account the sinful nature of man. Socialism relies on people being willing to voluntarily cooperate … I can tell you that people are not cooperative by nature. Rather, they are hardwired to take care of number one.”
In contrast to the teachings of socialism, Scripture teaches that man is indeed fallen — and selfish — by nature and can only be transformed to authentically care for others through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
And what’s another problem with socialism? We’ll discuss them another time.
