I’m Bub Kuns, and today I’m talking about “cancel culture” again.
“Cancel culture’s” censorship of anything that challenges its secular worldview or progressive ideology has become so over the top that even Harper’s Magazine — not exactly a conservative publication — in its recent “A Letter on Justice and Open Debate” called for a CANCELING of CANCEL CULTURE!
But trying to suppress the “cancelers” would be responding with the same type of censorship as “cancel culture” itself — a kind of “tit for tat.”
As believers, there’s a better way to respond to “cancel culture.”
You see, the Bible doesn’t tell us to silence those we disagree with. It tells us to give them the TRUTH of God’s Word that can set them free from Satan’s lies.
As Jesus said in John 8, “[E]veryone who practices sin is a slave,” but “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
Now, how can Christians prepare ourselves to deal with cancel culture? We’ll discuss them another time.
