Welcome!
I’m Bub Kuns and today I’m continuing to talk about “cancel culture.”
In recent years, “cancel culture” has come for our history. Statues of Columbus, Jefferson, and even Lincoln have been removed from public venues. The reason: liberal activists’ contention that these historical giants had character flaws that outweigh their contributions to society.
Of course, these men were flawed — JUST AS WE ALL ARE.
But as Christianity Today’s Bonnie Kristian stated, QUOTE: “We are created for good but, without Christ, we are captive to evil … Any understanding of human beings with this beginning will not be shocked to find real good and great evil in the same life, as indeed we find both in our own hearts.” END QUOTE.
Fact is, no historical person was perfect, except for Jesus. No person except for Jesus is without character flaws. So if you want to cancel history by removing statues of flawed imperfect people, the only ones left would be statues of Jesus.
Now, how should Christians respond to “cancel culture?” We’ll discuss that another time.
