Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about life issues, specifically abortion.
Who does abortion hurt? Well, if you said the unborn child, you would be right — but only partially.
Every abortion affects at least two lives — the life of the child and life of the mother.
Post-abortion syndrome is a real medical condition that harms women who have had abortions.
According to the Life Institute, 66% of women who’ve had abortions felt guilt afterwards, nearly half experienced anxiety, and many experience depression.
Often, women live with the trauma of post-abortion syndrome throughout life as they imagine how old their children would be, what they would have looked like, and what they would have grown up to be.
Women who’ve had abortions are often hurting, and we need to tell them that God forgives and heals. Psalm 130 says that “with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.”
And what are other life issues? We’ll discuss them another time.
