Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about life issues, specifically about the issue of abortion.
A recent debate around the issue of abortion is whether the unborn child can feel pain. If so, then abortion would clearly be inhumane torture. Pro-abortion advocates, though, insist the unborn child does not feel pain.
Well, the science is in … and it confirms the unborn child DOES FEEL PAIN.
Dr. Colleen Malloy, neonatal physician at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, said, “There is ample biologic, physiologic, hormonal, and behavioral evidence for fetal and neonatal pain. In fact, by 20 weeks post-fertilization…the fetal brain has the full complement of neurons that are present in adulthood.”
For believers, unborn children showing emotional response shouldn’t surprise us. In Luke 1, we’re told John the Baptist — still in his mother Elizabeth’s womb — leaped for JOY when Mary visited.
Such a response reinforces the evidence that abortion is unjust.
And what are other life issues? We’ll discuss them another time.
