Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
One way Satan tries to sow doubt about God’s Word is through indoctrination disguised as education.
Think that’s a stretch? Consider philosopher Daniel Dennett’s book Breaking the Spell, in which he encourages educators to teach students that religion is only a “natural phenomenon,” part of the evolutionary process that’s left behind with proper education. In other words, religion in general — and Christianity in particular — is just another superstition mankind should be taught to leave behind.
Christian author Dnesh Dszousa is spot on when he notes, “The strategy is not to argue with religious views or to prove them wrong. Rather, it is to subject them to such scorn that they are pushed outside the bounds of acceptable debate.”
It’s more important than ever for today’s young people to have “a reason for the hope” that is in them.
And what are other ways the enemy deceives? We’ll discuss them another time.
