Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today we’re talking about the enemy’s strategies.
Technology can be a tool for good, but too much technology — specifically too much social media — can be used by the enemy for harm.
According to the Mayo Clinic, research shows that teens spending over three hours on social media risk having mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, and poor sleep quality. On top of that, Mayo’s research noted the obvious: excessive social-media exposure often leads to cyberbullying.
Now, social media can certainly be used for God. Posting Bible verses or sharing the Gospel with someone online are great uses for social media. But like anything else, too much time online poses the danger of a believer missing opportunities for meaningful interaction with real-life people — as well as time with the Lord.
As Ephesians 5 reminds us, “See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise.”
And what are other ways the enemy deceives? We’ll discuss them another time.
