Today, we’re talking about the case for the God of the Bible.
One good reason to believe in the biblical God is that what He says conforms to the laws of science.
For example, scientists used to believe the universe was eternal. But in 1929, astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered the universe is expanding – meaning it had a STARTING POINT, just like Genesis says.
Not only that, but physical laws, such as the laws of gravity and thermodynamics, show the universe is ordered … the work of a DESIGNER!
And the fossil record also conforms to biblical truth. Darwin boasted the fossil record would prove evolution true, but after 100 years of digging, his “missing links” are still MISSING … that’s evidence for the Bible’s account of a sudden creation!
As Francis Bacon said, “A little science estranges a man from God; a lot of science brings him back.”
And there are other reasons to believe in the biblical God. We’ll discuss them another time.
