Today’s culture increasingly considers itself “post-truth,” where only what you believe for yourself matters. But what if YOUR truth conflicts with MY truth? Any society where everyone does “what’s right in his own eyes” is heading toward chaos.
Doubt me? Well, check out your local newspaper – the incredible number of homicides, suicides, assaults, riots, and vandalism today are all evidence of a society that’s rejected God.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. You see, the biblical God gives us clear objective standards for life in His Word, showing us truth from falsehood and helping us to be at peace with our neighbors and ourselves.
But without God’s objective truth standard, “Modern man has both feet firmly planted in mid-air,” as the late apologist Francis Schaffer said so well.
And what are other reasons to believe in the God of the Bible? We’ll discuss them another time.
