Today, we’re talking about the case for the God of the Bible.
The popular idea today that “All religions are fundamentally the same” is clearly shown to be false when you compare these religions’ “gods” to the biblical God. Hinduism’s top three gods – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva – have as many character flaws as the people they supposedly created. Islam’s god – Allah – is a harsh deity that has little grace and no love for his people. The “nature gods” of neopaganism ominously portend death but offer little hope of an afterlife.
Only the biblical God is holy – above any human in character and virtue. Only this God perfectly balances justice and mercy, punishing sin while offering forgiveness. And only this God loved His people enough to sacrifice Himself for their redemption. Truth is, only the biblical God can meet the real needs of man’s heart.
And what are other reasons to believe in the biblical God? We’ll discuss them another time.
