Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about Hinduism’s beliefs.
Among the THIRTY MILLION “gods” in Hinduism, the three greatest are called the “Trimurti.” Now don’t think that’s like the Christian Trinity – they are NOTHING alike. Instead of one God in three persons, the Trimurti are three completely separate gods – AND DO THEY HAVE PROBLEMS!
Brahma, the “creator-god,” was supposedly caught in lying and immorality and, so, was made a “lesser god.” This is a clear contrast to the true God who is holy.
Vishnu, the “protector-god” who balances good and evil, has supposedly come to earth in many avatars – or incarnations – including as a fish and a turtle – and even a dwarf – but never as a Savior.
Shiva, the “destroyer,” brings death to earth but only because he’s easily angered – and he also has a drug problem! This is so unlike the biblical God who will bring judgement because of man’s sin.
And what else does HINDUISM teach? We’ll discuss that another time.
