Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about Islam’s view of the Bible.
Muslims claim the Koran – supposedly given by Allah to Mohammed – as their holy book.
So how does Islam view the Bible?
Well, although the Koran – written long after the Old and New Testaments were completed – includes many biblical stories and even speaks favorably about Jesus, its essential claims completely contradict the Bible’s teachings. This has led Muslims to claim both Testaments have been “corrupted” and are no longer trustworthy.
But, truth is, manuscript evidence overwhelming shows that modern copies of both the Old and New Testaments are NEAR PERFECT COPIES OF THE ORIGINALS. In other words, the Bible HAS NOT BEEN CORRUPTED and is COMPLETELY TRUSTWORTHY. So, any corruption of God’s Word would have to reside in … you guessed it … the Koran itself.
As Psalm 119:160 says, “[God’s] Word is TRUE FROM THE BEGINNING.”
Islam and Christianity have more contrasts, and we’ll discuss them at another time.
