FALSE RELIGIONS: Islam (Part 2)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about Islam’s view of salvation.

The Muslim view of God is contrary to biblical teaching, but Islam also rejects the idea of salvation by grace through faith. In Islam, what’s important is submission to Allah’s will and obedience to the Koran. But even devout Muslims inevitably find they can’t keep Islam’s Five Pillars of Faith perfectly, and this works-based salvation results in Muslims never knowing for sure if their place in heaven is secure.

Contrast this with Christianity where salvation is based not on what we do but on WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR US! Instead of depending on our good works, which the Bible calls “filthy rags,” our salvation depends on Christ’s death on the cross for our sins. Because Jesus Christ is responsible for our salvation, through faith in Him we can know for sure our reservation in heaven is secure.

And there are more differences between Islam and Christianity. We’ll discuss them another time.
