Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about Islam’s view of Jesus Christ. Bible-believing Christians hold that Jesus Christ is divine, but what do Muslims say about Jesus? Well, Islam, which was founded by Mohammed in the AD 700s, teaches that Jesus was merely a prophet, not God in the flesh. The Koran, Islam’s holy book, teaches that Jesus was not even crucified (somehow the traitor Judas was put in His place). Without a crucifixion, there is no resurrection, either.
According to Islam, it was Muhammad (not Jesus) who revealed God to the world and serves as intercessor between the people and God. But this is contrary to Jesus’ own words in John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me.” It also ignores the historical reality of the Resurrection, which verifies that Jesus was who He claimed – the Son of God.
What do Hindus say about Jesus? We’ll discuss that another time.
