Today, we’re talking about evidence from the Resurrection. Although Scripture clearly teaches that Christ rose from the dead, skeptics continue to cast doubt on the literal Resurrection.
One false theory pushed by skeptics is the “Hallucination Theory.” According to this theory, those who witnessed the resurrected Christ only thought they saw Him – they were just hallucinating due to their “emotional disturbance” from the crucifixion and related events.
Yet, the risen Christ was seen by over 500 witnesses! Were they all hallucinating the same thing … at the same time? Besides, if Christ’s appearances were only hallucinations, the Pharisees could have just pointed to the body in the tomb to prove the disciples wrong. And what’s more, the disciples could actually touch the resurrected Jesus’ hands and side, and they watched Him eat real food! Hard for hallucinations to do that!
Truth is – Christ is risen!
What are other false theories about the Resurrection? We’ll discuss them another time. Until then, for more information, go to www.hopetools.net. Stay bold!
