Today, we’re talking about evidence from the Resurrection. Christ’s resurrection is by far the most important event in church history. Is it any wonder why skeptics make the Resurrection a prime target for their attacks?
One false idea skeptics use to cast doubt on Christ’s literal resurrection is the “Swoon Theory,” which states that Jesus really wasn’t dead after the crucifixion but was only in a coma. After being laid in the tomb, the coolness combined with the burial spices supposedly “revived Jesus,” and His disciples just thought He was risen from the dead.
But for this to be true, Jesus not only had to survive a severe flogging and crucifixion by trained Roman executioners but also work his way out from layers of bandages covering His body, push away a stone weighing 2,000 pounds, and fight off Roman soldiers standing guard.
DIDN’T HAPPEN – CHRIST IS RISEN!
Now there are other false theories about the Resurrection, and we’ll discuss them another time. Until then, for more information, go to www.hopetools.net. Stay bold!
