Today, we’re talking about worldviews. Pantheism is a worldview holding that “God is in everything,” and that man is really just “one with nature and the universe.” Once confined to traditional Eastern religions, pantheism has become part of the modern pop culture through movies such as Star Wars, which depicts a “force” humans can tap into. In fact, author Ross Douthat described pantheism as “Hollywood’s religion of choice for a generation now.” This worldview, similar to the New Age Movement, denies both that God is personal, and that we can have a relationship with Him.
In contrast, I John 4:9 reminds us, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” A personal God who created us sent His Son to redeem us from sin.
