Today, we’re talking about worldviews. One of the major false worldviews in today’s culture is postmodernism. Postmodernism followed the modernism of the early twentieth century. Modernism rejected the Bible and sought for “truth” through human experience, specifically science.
Unlike modernism, though, postmodernism claims that there is no truth or objective moral standard, holding that any idea of right and wrong is simply a human social construct. In other words, one person’s “right and wrong” is no more valid than anybody else’s because they’re all just made up anyway and totally based on that person’s unique class, race, or gender.
But this contradicts what Jesus Christ tells us in John 14:6, where He states, “I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The fact is, postmodernism is diametrically opposed to the teaching of Scripture – there is truth, and it is found in Christ.
Postmodernism has another problem, but we’ll discuss that another time. For more information, go to www.hopetools.net. Stay bold!
