WORLDVIEW: Naturalism – a Religion Masquerading as Science

Today, we’re talking about worldviews. Naturalism – the idea that man is the product of random natural forces – masquerades as science through the theory of evolution. But, in reality, naturalism is a philosophy; you might even say that for many, it’s a religion!

Take, for example, Carl Sagan’s much-hyped television series Cosmos. This documentary, touted as scientific, was really just an infomercial promoting the naturalistic worldview. In fact, each episode began with this narration: “The cosmos is all that is, or ever was, or ever will be.” Now, there’s no way a claim like that can be observed or verified as true science requires.

But it does sound a lot like Revelation 4:8 – “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” The fact is, many people, like Sagan, have a religious devotion to naturalism, despite evidence to the contrary. Naturalism is just another excuse to reject the true God of the Bible.

Naturalism devalues human life as well, but we’ll need to discuss that at another time. For more information, go to www.hopetools.net.  Stay bold!
