Today, we’re talking about worldviews. Naturalism challenges the biblical worldview by denying God’s existence and claiming man is merely the product of random natural forces through Darwinian evolution. This worldview permeates modern academia, entertainment, and pop-culture. Naturalism is contrary to Scripture, but it’s also contrary to sound science which clearly shows God’s hand in creation.
So, why is the naturalistic worldview so widespread today? Truth is, many embrace naturalism because they simply want to reject God’s authority over them. You see, if people can deny God as Creator, they can argue there’s no objective standard of right and wrong, meaning they can do whatever they want. But once they acknowledge God’s existence, they are obligated to obey Him!
As Princeton theologian Charles Hodge said:
[T]he denial of design in nature is virtually the denial of God.
EXACTLY!
